Sam Tabar is an outstanding capital strategist and a senior attorney residing in New York. He has vast experience in business development, fundraising, and managing legal matters. Besides, Sam is knowledgeable in many areas including management, mergers and acquisitions, civil and commercial litigation, legal writing, corporate law, and legal research.
He earned his Bachelor’s of Arts degree from Oxford University and later studied Law at Columbia University. According to Bloomberg, Sam Tabar’s major roles at Skadden included handling regulatory compliance issues, advising customers on hedge fund formation and structure, employment and private placement, writing of investment management agreements in addition to side letters. In 2004, Sam Tabar left Skadden and was hired by SPARX Group/PMA Investment Advisors, a firm based in Hong Kong.
Due to his exemplary performance, he rose up the ranks of leadership to become the Managing Director and Co-head of business development. At SPARX, Sam’s key roles included managing all international marketing initiatives and also dealing with investor relations for a hedge fund of more than $2 billion.
Sam’s accomplishments at SPARX include offering a personal Rolodex of over 2,000 investors and an additional 400 introductions and managing to raise 1.2 billion dollars from this venture.
After his successful career at SPARX, Tabar joined Merrill Lynch Bank in 2010 as a Director and Head of Capital Strategy for Asia- Pacific Region. At Merrill Lynch, Mr. Tabar duties included providing counsel to hedge fund investors and connecting investors with useful networks such as pensions, endowments, and foundations. In 2012, Tabar joined Adana, LLC as the Managing Director, where he invested in properties and startups. One of his ventures is THINX, a startup firm that offers support to women in the US and Africa. Sam Tabar is currently the COO at FullCycle.
